About SkyTeam

SkyTeam is one of the world's three major airline alliances and the most recent of the big three to be formed. It was founded on 22 June 2000 by four carriers - Aeromexico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air - and today unites 18 member airlines under the slogan 'The Priority Is You'. Its centralised management team, known as SkyTeam Central, is based in Amstelveen in the Netherlands, within the head office of member KLM. Measured by passengers carried, SkyTeam is the second-largest alliance in the world, with around 624 million travellers in 2024 flying to over 1,000 airports in more than 160 countries.

The alliance recognises frequent flyers through two shared levels, Elite and Elite Plus, and status earned on any member airline is honoured across the whole network. Its signature SkyPriority programme gives eligible passengers a consistent set of priority services at the airport, including priority check-in, dedicated baggage drop, priority boarding, and faster security and immigration lanes where available. Elite Plus members additionally enjoy access to a worldwide network of partner lounges and a guaranteed booking benefit on many fully booked flights, ensuring a familiar premium experience regardless of which member they fly.

For travellers planning multi-stop itineraries, SkyTeam offers round-the-world and regional Go passes that combine flights across its members on a single ticket. The alliance also runs a dedicated freight partnership, SkyTeam Cargo, which links the cargo divisions of several of its airlines. Overall the alliance is built around seamless connections and reciprocal recognition, so that mileage, status and priority services carry over smoothly whenever passengers move between its member carriers.
